Call for Representatives: Bushfire Advisory Committee
The Nature Conservation Council (NCC) is not currently seeking any applications to either the Bush Fire Advisory Committee (BFAC) or the Rural Fire Service Advisory Council (RFSAC). This page will be updated if a position becomes available.
Bushfire Advisory Committee
The committee primarily oversees the operation of the Bushfire Program including the biennial NCC Bushfire Conference and provides strategic and technical advice on bushfire issues, including advising on matters raised by our representatives on District Bush Fire Management Committees, and ensuring relevant bushfire issues are addressed in the NCC’s strategic plan, programs and policies. Members of BFAC represent NCC on the Rural Fire Service Advisory Council (RFSAC), the Bushfire Coordinating Committee (BFCC) and related sub-committees and working groups, contributing to bushfire policy development and state level bush fire management planning processes. The Committee meets quarterly.
